Felix Lander (1898-1960)
Lander cut his architectural teeth with Raymond Unwin, designing several buildings in Letchworth Garden City and later on Welwyn Garden City. Lander later went onto work for the firm of Adams and Holden, before going into partnership with N. F. C. Cachemaille-Day and both were later joined by Herbert Arthur Welch.

N. F. C. Cachemaille-Day (1896-1976)
Born in South Woodford, Essex, Cachemaille-Day worked for Louis de Soissons at Welwyn Garden City, before later going into partnership with Felix Lander and Herbert Arthur Welch. Cachemaille-Day worked alone after 1935 and increasing concentrated on designing churches, including St.Michael and All Angels and St. Nicholas in Manchester, described by Pevsner as ‘a milestone in the history of modern church architecture in England’.

Herbert Welch (1884-1953)
Welch started his architectural career working with Raymond Unwin on Hampstead Garden Suburb, and also designed Hendon Fire Station. Before joining forces with Lander and Cachemaille-Day, Welch teamed up with painter Frederick Etchells to design the Crawford Advertising offices in High Holborn.
