Name: Boston Manor Station
Date: 1934
Architect: Charles Holden
Lines: Piccadilly
Borough: Hounslow
Listing: Grade II
Notes: Along with Osterley, Boston Manor represents a change from approach by Charles Holden, encouraged by London Transport chief Frank Pick to produce some more eye-catching designs. Here Holden used a tall thin tower with glass bricks above a low station building which straddles the tracks. The station design is influenced by the Volharding building in The Hague, designed by J.W.E. Buijs and Joan B. Lursen in 1928.
