Notes: One of Charles Holden's final stations for the underground, Wanstead was initially designed at the end of the 1903s, before being put on hold after the outbreak of the war. The design was revised post war with the previously planned glass brick finish and carving of St George and the Dragon by Joseph Armitage jettisoned to be replaced by prefabricated concrete panels and no decoration. The original plan was kept, with a large ventilation tower overlooking a rectangular ticket hall.
