Name: Sugden House, Watford
Date: 1956
Architect: Alison and Peter Smithson
Borough: Hertfordshire
Listing: Grade II
Notes:
A house on the outskirts of Watford, designed by the architects Alison and Peter Smithson, for Arup engineer Derek Sugden and his family. Although known for their brutalist  ideas and designs like Robin Hood Gardens, the Sugden House is a thoughtfully crafted house, built in London stock brick around a crosswall frame with concrete beams, with a catslide tiled roof.
