Name: Ruislip Manor Station
Date: 1938
Architect: Charles Holden
Lines: Piccadilly, Metropolitan
Borough: Hillingdon
Listing:-
Notes: Ruislip Manor is another of the New Works Programme stations, designed to upgrade the tube network's older stations in line with its new shiny Piccadilly Line stations of the early 1930s. The awkward site with the railway line having to travel over the road out paid to anything along the likes of Arnos Grove or Southgate, and Holden cut his cloth accordingly with a simple arrangement, enlivened by the art deco clock in the ticket hall.
