Name: Redbridge Station
Date: 1947
Architect: Charles Holden
Lines: Central
Borough: Redbridge
Listing: Grade II
Notes: Redbridge was originally planned in 1938 with Charles Holden producing a design that featured a nearly all-glass ticket hall building, which would have incorporated an etching from the 1937 Paris Exposition. Of course, World War II intervened, and cheaper materials were used instead, with a ventilation tower next to a circular ticket hall. Some interesting details are worth looking at in the interior, with the circular light fitting on the ticket hall ceiling and the crisp tilework at platform level.
