Name: Queensbury Station
Date: 1938
Architect: Stanley Heaps
Borough: Harrow
Listing:
Notes: Queensbury station is built as part of a parade of shops and flats, a typically 1930s three storey parade in brick, with shops along the street level and flats above. The most interesting part of the station is opposite the entrance, a tall “mushroom” shelter with a large roundel and pole sign. The idea is similar to those shelters found on the Piccadilly line, outside Southgate and Oakwood, but its curving concrete form is more forward looking than those designs.
