Name: Ever Ready House
Date: 1966
Architect: Richard Seifert
Borough: Barnet
Listing:
Notes:
Office block at 1255 High Road, Whetstone, originally built for the British Ever Ready Electrical Company. The block is a typical example of the Seifert 1960s style, a twelve storey and three storey black, sitting on angled piloti, with long bands of windows. The building was taken over by Barnet Council in 1986, and renamed Barnet House. Since 2017 various attempts have been made to convert the building to apartments, but so far they have been rejected.
