Name: Branch Hill Estate
Date: 1979
Architect: Benson and Forsyth
Borough: Camden
Listing: Grade II
Notes: A hidden gem, an estate of precise modernist houses arranged on the slopes of Branch Hill in Hampstead. It was designed by Gordon Benson and Alan Forsyth for Camden Borough, much influenced by  the work of Swiss firm Atelier 5. The completion of the scheme was delayed and ran well over budget, leading it to be dubbed “the most expensive council housing in the world”. Despite the outrage, homes here are much sought after and the estate was listed in August 2010.
